here you go, jerry and karin! i hate updating.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... I JUST FINISHED MY LAST CLASS EVER ON SABA!!! (hopefully...) my final block of exams is this monday!

so why am i stuck on the island for an additional month after this???

because my school is the gay. we have to take a mandatory kaplan course to prepare us for the USMLE step 1 (which is the american board exam i have to pass in order to complete my basic sciences part and to be able to continue into the clinical rotations part). this kaplan course consists of endless hours of TAPED lectures! oh gosh, it's so painful! so after monday, we will have to sit in class and watch 8 hours of tapes. at the end of this, we have to take their kaplan final exam (which is a mock exam of the USMLE 1) and if we don't pass then we don't get to leave the island!!! so, i guess i can't sleep through these videos.

also, on top of this kaplan final, we have a pathology shelf exam (a national exam to compare ourselves to the rest of the states), a journal thing to write up, and some oral exams. all of which i have yet to study for and do. yay me!

BUT I'M DONE CLASSES!!!

if only the videos were as interesting as days of our lives... then i could watch it non-stop.

YAY... BACK AT HOME!!!! KARIN JUST ASKED ME WHY I UPDATE BACK AT HOME AND NOT IN SABA... IT'S CUZ I'M TOO BUSY... WELL, TOO LAZY TO UPDATE WHEN I'M ON THE ROCK. SO SUCK IT. ENJOY WHILE YOU CAN... OK FINE, I'M NOT AT HOME... I'M AT IREE'S HOUSE. SHE'S FAT NOW. SHE WEIGHS 105 POUNDS. CAR ALSO THINKS SHE'S COOL. BUT SHE'S OBVIOUSLY NOT. BUT WE'LL LET HER THINK SHE IS.

I HAVE THE MOST EXCITING WEEKEND AHEAD OF ME!!!! i am going island hopping... yup, that's right!!! so here's a sneak peak at my itinerary:

fri at 6pm: fly out to ST MARTIN and spend the nite there

sat at 10am: catch a plane to ST BARTS!!! this is THE posh island... all the celebrities go here, so i'm going to have my finger on the camera in case i see orlando bloom, johnny depp, or eva longoria!!!

sat at 5pm: catch a flight back to st martin for the nite

sun morning: take a boat out to ANGUILLA... apparently this island has the prettiest beaches by far... and they have a tank where you can swim with the dolphins!

sun evening: take the boat back to st martin to spend our last nite

mon at 5:45pm: go back to saba.... =(

3 ISLANDS!!!!! and the best thing about this trip is that we got the bestest deals!! normally, it already costs us $100 round trip to st martin and $24 round trip to anguilla. it woulda been an additional $150 round trip to st barts, but there's a special this weekend so it'll only cost us $52 round trip to st barts! not bad huh??? so our travelling costs for the weekend hit a grand total of $176 + probably around $80 for 3 nites at the hotel.

ok people, i'm off to enjoy my fabulous weekend!!!

I GOT KFC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm telling you, fast food here is a luxury!! sonia went to st. martin this weekend and brought some back for me!!!

speaking of sonia going away for the weekend.... can i tell you how many people went out of town this weekend?

my only consolations: i got to hear a little bit of the lights softball game through kim's phone, esther had to work (hehehhee... sorry dear), and china was all by his lonesome self in toronto.......... and KFC!!!!

On sat, I went rock climbing with some friends. Imagine that… rock climbing on the Rock. Hehehe… well, in order to get to the huge rock, we had to hike all the way up there. This hike though was not one of the hikes in which there’s a trail for you to follow. This one was trekking through the woods, stepping on branches, wading through shrubs, getting stabbed by pointy plants, and hanging onto trees so asto not slip and roll all the way back down. Well, on the way up, my friend Brianne was walking in front of me and kicked a shrub that contained a wasp nest, which pissed them off. All of a sudden, she screams out in pain as one bites her in the ankle. I look up to see if she’s ok, and one stabs me in the right upper eyelid! It was soooo painful! Needless to say, I swelled up good.

So for the past 2 days, I’ve looked even chinkier than ever! The whole right side of my face is swollen and my eye barely stays open. Who knew it actually takes that much effort to keep your eyes open.

So yesterday (mon), my eye was so bad that I decided to go to the hospital to get it checked out and to get a sick note for missing classes due to being all drugged up and not being able to open my eye. I showed up there at 2pm and the secretary told me that the doctor had already left because he saw his last patient for the day. WHO FINISHES SEEING PATIENTS AT 2PM WHEN YOU’RE THE ONLY DOCTOR ON THE ISLAND??? I show them my eye and still they turned me away! So I’m walking back towards the exit when I bump into a nurse who asks me if I saw the doc and I told her that the secretary said he was already gone for the day. She just looked at my eye again and said that the doctor was still here and to go get my eye looked at. So another nurse walks with me back to the secretary and tries to get her to let me see the doc. After a few minutes of pointing at my eye and trying to convince the secretary to let me see the doc, the secretary finally says, “I’m sorry, the doctor is still here but he is TOO TIRED to see any more patients for the day! Come back tomorrow and he’ll look at it for you.”

TOO TIRED??? IT’S FREAKING 2PM!!! I’d understand if it was 5-6pm or if there was another doctor I could go to, but HE’S THE ONLY DOCTOR ON THE ISLAND!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!

So, seeing that I had no other choice, I went back to the hospital this morning at 8am. I sat there and waited 2.5 hours before I could see the doctor. He looks at my medical history (which by the way, was taken by one of my friends in 5^th semester), asks me what meds I’m taking and if it’s making me drowsy, and then sends me on my way with a prescription for Aerius, a sick note, and a $22.59 consultation fee!!!! THIS ISLAND IS THE SUCK!!!

oh my gosh... i'm in western right now and i'm in loooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeee....

OH WESTERN HOW I'VE MISSED YOU!!!

this is my first time back since going to saba so it's been a little more than a year... last time i came up here was last year's fashion show...

wow... everything is so pretty... and there are actually PEOPLE AND BUILDINGS!!! me and iree ran around campus taking stupid pics for memories even though it was freaking cold today! she was so embarrassed cuz i was being a total tourist... =)

got in around 3pm and then met up with javier, robin the fatty mcfat, dj rheejuvinate, and carlos at TK's.... mmmmm... those glorious shakes and pho were still just as good as ever!! plus the company made it that much better... although all they did was make fun of me!! jerks...

then as we were running around campus taking pics, we bumped into augustine and alex louie in the UCC... it was so nice and random....

and then tonight lois and gina are also coming into london so i think we're all going to hit up 29 park (some new club thing or something).... i'm excited to see it, although i'm dying to see good old phoenix and the drink...

it's crazy... same old place, but totally different people...

i will always love this place. i don't care how old i feel... hahahaha....
